Quantified self is both the cultural phenomenon of self-tracking with technology and a community of users and makers of self-tracking tools who share an interest in “self-knowledge through numbers”
I’ve got a deep, scientifically rooted urge to make sense of what I experience and feel in my body. I have come to understand that there are whole communities of people that track all sorts of data of themselves and use these to gain data-driven insights.
Tracking personal metrics such as sleep, weight, resting heart rate, running and weightlifting perfomance over time has given me some footholds to recognise behavior that impacts my physical life, both positively (more sleep equals better mood) and negatively (alcohol consumption leading to diminished results)
