Inspiration, and getting inspired, are highly underrated as drivers of connection, productivity, and personal growth. I believe everyone deserves to find ways to become inspired on a regular basis. This could be as simple as taking a short walk when the sun is out, or as elaborate as carving out dedicated time to engage with a community and partake in creative endeavors.
Last weekend, I indulged in the latter. I had planned ahead to meet up with an international community of like-minded electronic music enthusiasts. Together, we talked about music, brought our favorite instruments, and experienced the beauty of listening, dancing, and the performing arts.
The benefits of these inspirational events become apparent immediately after inspiration strikes - a sudden rush of motivation and drive to put effort into new endeavors, discovering what you want to explore or learn, and finding new connections with people and interests.
Capturing notes, journaling, and revisiting photographs can turn even the smallest bits of inspiration into powerful, cathartic stories. This provides the ability to anchor that state of inspiration into something captured that can be re-visited later, for instance during scheduled reflection time.
I encourage you to think about how you are allowing yourself to become inspired, whether that is on your next meetup, conference, community event or by simply walking the dog. I wish upon you the great benefits it brings when you experience it!
