Longevity, or healthspan, is a term that describes the duration of your life in which you are healthy and able to live a rich and fulfilling life. It contrasts itself to lifespan, or the amount of years that you are alive, which is the metric our care system is currently optimised for.

By shifting our focus to being healthy for as long as possible, instead of trying to extend our life for as long as possible, I believe we can vastly improve overall happiness and compassion in our society.
