Refreshing to watch a show with such a clear and unusual premise that really makes you think about work and consciousness
Very nicely designed, produced and filmed. clearly inspired by games such as Control,Portal, Stanley’s parable
Good to have shows explore the eery near future of brain implants, which we are so close to already with Neuralink
Balance between outside and inside world, like the matrix and assassin’s Creed world (Inside outside animus)
Every couple of episodes feels like a complete new chapter with its own themes and style
Awesome climax of first season with the severed entities breaking out into the outside world
Cobels loyalty to lumon → why
Se0204 awesome lynchian episode at the innie retreat where helly r is outed as being an outie by Irving (I catched the foreshadowing when helly misspoke in the first episode), style reminded me of tarkovky (Andrei tarkovsky)
Interesting theme of adultery when innie meets outies wife
Unclear / mystery why Helena went so far in tricking mark s, can’t be just a love interest
What keeps surprising me is that each part of the season feels like little mini movies with their own theme and style, but still fit in with he rest of the story
Finally able to watch and read about severance after finishing season 2 and being sync with the rest of the world. Most fun theories include that helly is pregnant (“who’s baby is it?”), lumon is working on cloning with reprogrammed consciousness, cobel was the first severed (and later reintegrated) lumon workers (hence the duality between solveig and cobel) and miss huang actually being a clone with different memories imprinted.
Couldn’t really follow what happened to irving at the end of the season, burt sent him away? Burt was a criminal and wanted his innie to lead an innocent life? We’ll probably hear more in season 3
