Was surprised by the slow pace of the game. It feels quite like the old school Thief games and open world gameplay like Elder scrolls.

Game plays a bit rusty, difficulty curve is erratic with being mostly easy and sometimes frustratingly difficult whne you dont understand what the preffered way of the game is to get you through an encounter or semi-scripted sequence

Storytelling has high nostalgic quality, the slapstick style, patriarchial tension and oneliners with accompanying sound effects feel like they were written decades ago and didnt age that wel from my perspective. Some scenes are so over the top that all believability goes straight out the window

Many games use famous locations to anchor their setpieces, but often do this in a way that ties in with the story. Here it really feels like the locations were chosen first and the story was just adjusted to it.

Section with the snake as villain / endboss in multiple stages was quite extraodinarily done well. Very frightening on the entry of the temple, with sort of an underwater fight, a midway battle using spears to defend yourself and epic climax with fistfight and quick time event.
