Was expecting a far worse movie after the harsh critics and known major losses disney made with this film. We actually enjoyed it a lot. It’s obviously a nerd movie, filled with nostalgia to 80’s and 80’s tron movies with many in-jokes and references that only IT people will probably get. Maybe that’s why I actually liked the movie.
Yes, the characters are a bit thin, the AI going rogue and falling for the main character you could see coming a mile in advance but the spectacle and visualisation of digital world just excites me. The cyber security scene infiltrating the datacenter was comedic gold and Ares returning to 80’s tron to meet flynn was a great fan service.
