Looking forward to play around with influxdb 3. I mostly skipped influxdb 2 as I would have to migrate both data inflow (different api) and data visualization (different query language). To my relief, influxdb 3 should support influx1 api calls and influxdb1 queries, and provide support for persistence in object storage while maintaining high performance retrieval.

InfluxDB 3 Core gives developers a new tool for time series data management—a high-performance recent-data engine optimized for querying the last 72 hours of data. InfluxDB 3 Core is designed to operate either with a local disk and no dependencies or “diskless,” using object storage (e.g., S3) for all data.
